Have you been ecotourism dreamin’? If so, this list is for you. It’s a list of the top 3 destinations for ecotourism. One of these are to be expected (yes, Stretch Tourism operates there), but one destination may catch you by surprise.
After doing a lot research for eco-friendly travel areas, we picked the top three. Check them out below.
- Costa Rica: Costa Rica is a no brainer. Costa Rica has been synonymous with ecotourism for years, and for good reason. The country is covered with lush forests, green mountains, sunny beaches, clear water and beautiful people. Tourism is a strong economic driver for the country, yet Costa Rican businesses, government and people take pride in conserving their land and natural resources. Pura Vida!
- Norway: The land of the midnight sun may come as a surprise, but it shouldn’t. Norway’s remote location and strict government stance on environmental policies has earned it the right to be on this list. Activities range from viewing the famous Norwegian Fjords, river rafting, dog sledding, caving, checking out local wildlife, hiking and much more.
- Kenya: A staple of tourism in Africa. Kenya is known for lions and elephants, and wide open savannas. There are also mountains, a beautiful coast full of things to do, rain forests and of course the Maasai community.
While these are often recognized as the top 3 destinations for ecotourism, don’t forget others such as Peru, South Africa and the United States, which Stretch Tourism currently leads tours in.
